Things You Need To Know About Kraft Tape Dispensers

When you are packaging for shipping, you have to make sure that you are choosing right packaging supplies. Wrong supplies and running short of supplies required, both are the factors which can cause setbacks to your business. While it is important to have enough of the right supplies, you also have to make sure that you know about the right ways to use these supplies. That’s where you can take help from the entry-level automation, which usually consists of the gadgets that are designed to streamline and speedup the packaging process. One of such solutions to talk about is the use of Kraft tape dispenser.

What are these dispensers all about?
The two most important elements of outer packaging for shipping are corrugated box and packing tape. While packing in the box is largely a manual process, the procedure of packing tape application offers a room for automation. That is the reason you need to use Kraft tape dispenser.

It is worth mentioning here that manual application of tape can become an erroneous process if you do not apply the tape properly, cut the wrong length of tape, and/or fail to cut the tape cleanly. Kraft tape dispenser makes the tape application job easier from all these perspectives. Application of water activated tape adds an extra step of wetting of the adhesive layer. For this purpose, the dispenser has a water chamber and a brush that wets the adhesive layer right before the tape is applied.

Entry level automation
Entry level automation mainly involves speeding up the operation and ensuring smart use of the packaging supplies. In this scenario, we will first talk about the manual application of the water activated tape. This process involves unrolling of tape, measuring which usually involves estimation, cutting, wetting, and then application of the tape. Kraft tape dispenser makes the job easy as you just need to set the roll in. As the tape is dispensed, the water from water chamber is applied to the adhesive layer through brush and the tape is applied cleanly.

There are two options that you can go for when it comes to using a Kraft tape dispenser; i.e. you can either use a manual dispenser or use an electrically powered dispenser. The manual action dispenser requires you to pull out the tape and start applying it. The dispenser will wet the adhesive layer before the tape is applied. The head of the dispenser has a cutter which you need to use to cut the tape cleanly. Electrically powered dispenser, on the other hand, allows you to set the length of the tape that you want. You need to push the button to get the tape dispensed. Upon reaching the predetermined length, the tape will be cut automatically.

Depending on your requirements, you need to pick the type of dispenser you need. You will certainly be able to speed up the packaging operations of your small business.
